10th annual event brings total funds raised for children’s causes to more than 1.4 million
For the 10th year, with the 57th Rolex 24 at DAYTONA sports car endurance classic as the backdrop, attendees of The NASCAR Foundation’s Taste of the 24 were treated to some of the Daytona Beach area’s finest cuisine and live entertainment from 24 restaurants showcasing their best menu items.
The event culminated with bragging rights on the line, via voting for the ‘Best of Taste’ by event attendees. The results are in, and The NASCAR Foundation is proud to announce this year’s award winners:
Best Overall Suite: Jeep Beach
Best Appetizer: Chart House
Best Entrée: 31 Supper Club
Best Dessert: Ben & Jerry’s
“In its 10 years, the Taste of the 24’s proceeds have truly made a significant impact on the Daytona Beach community,” The NASCAR Foundation Executive Director Nichole Krieger said. “We appreciate the support provided by our sponsors, the restaurants and all of our event attendees. Congratulations to our ‘Best of Taste’ winners – but of course the real winners of the night are the kids who will benefit from everyone’s generosity.”
Participating restaurants included 31 Supper Club, Azure at the Shores Resort and Spa, Backyard Boys BBQ and Catering, Ben & Jerry’s, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Chart House, Cocina 214, Daytona Lagoon, It’Sugar, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, Joe’s Crab Shack, Kale Café, Kilwin’s, Mai Tai Bar, Malcolm’s at LPGA, Metro Diner, Midici, The Neapolitan Pizza Company, Oklahoma Joe’s, Rock Bottom Brewery, Sloppy Joe’s Daytona, Spectra Food Services & Hospitality, Streamline Hotel, The Roof and Wine-Me Wine Bar.
The tradition of awarding a Rolex watch to one lucky guest continued, with a New Smyrna Beach guest winning the raffle, courtesy of Tom Cook Jeweler of Daytona Beach.
