It’s almost time for our second Speediatrics Fun Day Festival of 2019, and we can’t wait! On Thursday, May 2nd, we will host our first-ever event at Dover International Speedway.
While we are always excited to get out in the community for these events aimed at inspiring children to lead a healthy lifestyle, we get even more excited when it’s in a new market.
Each market is unique, so we look to partner with community organizations who are helping to tackle the area’s issues and to positively affect the lives of children there.
We are thrilled to partner with the Dover YMCA to bring more than 150 children from the local area to the track to experience what NASCAR is all about. Not only will they have fun participating in our NASCAR-themed field day activities, but they will learn that being healthy can be fun! And that being healthy is extremely important to our NASCAR drivers and their success each and every weekend.
When the dust settles from this weekend, our impact will continue as we partner with the Dover YMCA to help continue its ‘Heathy Weight and Your Child’ program that provides lifestyle transformation lessons for adolescents ages 7 – 13 with obesity and helps them focus on healthy eating, regular physical activity and behavior change to build positive life-long healthy living habits.
The kids from the @doverymca got their Speediatrics Fit Kits today!

Through the Dover YMCA, students from several local after-school programs are joining us for the Speediatrics Fun Day Festival. To get them started on their journey to a healthy lifestyle, we provided each of them with a NASCAR Foundation fit kit, complete with jump rope and pedometer watch.
The children will participate in a step challenge to see who can walk the most steps over the next few weeks. We can’t wait to see how they will do!
