The second annual "Art of Speed," an exhibition of artwork and luxury automobiles held Jan. 24 in the ONE DAYTONA lifestyle and entertainment destination in partnership with Gallery500, resulted in a sizable donation to The NASCAR Foundation, NASCAR’s charitable arm that works to improve the quality of life for children in need.
Gallery500, which features works by contemporary artists from Florida and nationwide in rotating shows, and Lifestyle Group at Oceans Luxury Realty donated a total of $3,690 to the foundation. Local community supporters such as Chapman Root, Jon Hall Chevrolet, Halifax Plantation and Mutual of Omaha Mortgage, were able to help the event raise significant funds for the charity through the purchase of artwork in the gallery as well as individual donations at the event.
The Art of Speed – held amid the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA weekend – attracted several thousand people, with high-end artwork and an exotic, international lineup of automobiles arranged in ONE DAYTONA’s signature "Victory Circle" display area. The Art of Speed also benefited the Daytona Beach Arts Alliance.
"This was an outstanding event that helped connect Gallery500, ONE DAYTONA and The NASCAR Foundation to the excitement and pageantry surrounding the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA sports car race at Daytona International Speedway," said Nichole Krieger, executive director of The NASCAR Foundation.
"It also was a great way to kick off our local fundraising efforts for 2020. The Art of Speed has been a perfect, timely addition to those efforts."
