When asked why Brad Olsen has been a NASCAR volunteer since 2009, his answer was simple, “I love NASCAR, and anyone who is affiliated with it. I just love helping people who could use a little help and cheer.”
It all started in 1992 when Brad’s sister and brother-in-law introduced him to the biggest motorsports racing organization in the world, NASCAR. From his first few races at Auto Club Speedway and Phoenix Raceway, he knew he had a love for the sport and becoming a fan was just the beginning for Brad’s involvement.
Thanks to his late cousin, Rich Corsi, Brad became a volunteer for the Pit Road Fire Safety crew for races across the country. From New Hampshire Motor Speedway to Atlanta Motor Speedway to Phoenix Raceway, rain or shine, Brad dedicates his time to assuring the safety of others. Brad states his favorite part about being a volunteer for the fire safety crew is high fiving the kids and hearing their race stories. And yet, his service doesn’t stop there.
It was over five years ago when Brad Olsen was introduced to The NASCAR Foundation, and the impact it brings to children who need it most in our racing communities. Being the natural servant leader that he is, Brad immediately wanted to know what HE could do to make a difference. Starting small, he made annual pin donations, sharing the new design with friends and family each year. When he heard about the Hauler Campaign, he was on board and even honored his late cousin in 2020’s campaign. To further his support and make an even bigger charitable impact, Brad became a monthly donor. Now, years later, Brad’s love of NASCAR has developed into a passion for changing the lives of children served through The NASCAR Foundation. The donations he has made continue to make a difference to the kids in our racing communities and we are grateful for supporters like Brad. He shared, “I just want to help in every way I can.” And he absolutely does!
The NASCAR Foundation is thankful for our incredible donors who make an ongoing impact on the work we do. Because of individuals like Brad Olsen, we can continue our mission of helping children who need it most across the country.
