Double the Fun at our Speediatrics Family Weekends

As summer turned to fall this year, families across the country began to adjust to their “new normal” of getting back to school and attempting to return to our normal activities.

In an effort to return to hosting children and families at Victory Junction in Randleman, N.C., the camp dedicated to providing once-in-a-lifetime camping experiences for children with chronic illnesses also adapted its operations to welcome families back for family weekends. We were thrilled to host two Family Weekends in October that provided opportunities for families to get away from the daily stresses of dealing with health challenges to make memories and spend time together in a care-free environment.

The Speediatrics Family Weekends at Victory Junction took place October 9th – 11th and October 23rd -25th. and welcomed 75 family members who were each greeted with a Welcome banner and Swag Bag filled with NASCAR Foundation memorabilia and activity books for the families to enjoy throughout the weekend.

The impact that Victory Junction has on all families who attend Victory Junction is beyond measurable. They all had the time of their lives while participating in bowling, archery, fishing, boating, horseback riding and so much more!

We enjoy hearing all the stories from each family!

The Eaton Family shared, “It was so very nice to be at Victory Junction. We always feel at home there and we were happy to be at camp for a few days. While it was a different experience than normal, it was certainly not less. We really enjoyed ourselves.”

The Ballard Family shared, “Victory Junction brings us together as a family. It is where we bond without any distractions or judgement from outsiders. We enjoyed archery, bowling, woodshop and cutting loose in the gym! The barn and fishing were also very relaxing. When our younger son (now 11 years old) becomes old enough, he has already expressed a strong interest in becoming a Victory Junction counselor one day! Thank you, NASCAR Foundation, for allowing our family to have an unforgettable time at Victory Junction.”

The NASCAR Foundation strives to continually give back to communities across the nation to be that positive lasting impact in the lives of children and families.
