Jaeleen Davis has volunteered for 13 years with Maggie’s Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan. Jaeleen is a wig recipient who has experienced hair loss since the age of 8 due to alopecia. Currently, she uses her personal experience working with children directly, offering one-on-one peer support to navigate through their hair loss.
Jaeleen raises awareness and funds through her Miss America platform, which has also allowed her to introduce bills in Michigan and Ohio in order to get insurance companies cover the cost of children’s wigs. “I became a spokesperson at local fundraisers and schools. Basically, any time that we were requesting a grant and they needed someone to speak on it, I was there”, said Jaeleen Davis.
Maggie’s Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan is a nonprofit organization that provides wigs and support services to children ages 3 to 18 throughout the state of Michigan. Funds received from winning the Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award would help sponsor kids with services and wigs.
Jaeleen became a fan by spending time with her Papa to learn about NASCAR. Her favorite driver is Julia Landauer and her favorite memory is from her first race with her grandfather at Michigan International Speedway.
