In August, The NASCAR Foundation partnered with The Dale Jr Foundation for an online auction of Dale Jr. skeleton-inspired gloves worn by 36 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series drivers at Watkins Glen International.
“Partnering with The NASCAR Foundation for this online auction was a fabulous experience,” The Dale Jr. Foundation Executive Director Emily DiNunzio said. “It lightened our work load while maximizing our return and we were thrilled with the results. The funds raised will go straight to work for patients and families at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.”
Thanks to the generous support of the auction winners, nearly $50,000 was raised for The Dale Jr Foundation in support of the Dale and Amy Earnhardt Fund at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, which supports courageous patients and their families in the area of pediatric injury rehabilitation, research and prevention.
“These children and their families go through so much during rehabilitation and pediatric injury research is really underfunded. We want to support them and give hope to children everywhere by speeding research discoveries and being an advocate for this important issue of injury prevention. This also allows us to grow and expand the mission of The Dale Jr. Foundation,” said Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
The Dale Jr. Foundation is a charity dedicated to giving underprivileged individuals, with a focus on youth, the resources to improve their confidence and education and the opportunity to achieve extraordinary goals.
The NASCAR Foundation partners with NASCAR driver and industry charities throughout the year to auction off unique memorabilia and at-track experiences in support of charitable efforts. Click here to learn more about our online auctions program.
