In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, The NASCAR Foundation partnered with NASCAR’s Multicultural Development team and invited members of the NASCAR leadership team to participate in a community service project.
In Daytona Beach, Florida, The NASCAR Foundation’s executive director, Lorene King, and director of Diversity Affairs, Dawn Harris, visited the Speediatrics® Unit at Halifax Hospital. They were also joined by Joe Petrock, the director of Halifax Health Foundation.
The children in the Speediatrics® Unit at Halifax Hospital received backpacks and books about Martin Luther King Jr. while the nurses were recognized with coffee and sweet baked goods.
In Charlotte, North Carolina, NASCAR employees visited Piney Grove Elementary School for Career Café to speak about NASCAR.
