To launch the Chase Elliott Foundation, Chase Elliott collaborated with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to create the Design 2 Drive 4 Children’s racing shoe program.
Patients submitted color sketches of racing shoes designed with a summer camp theme.
Five shoe designs were selected to be created into shoes by Alpinestars racing shoes that Chase Elliott, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Jimmie Johnson, and Kasey Kahne raced in at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
In celebration of the launch, Chase Elliott visited Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in Egleston prior to the Atlanta race weekend to reveal the five shoes that were selected and to present the hospital with a $24,000 donation, which was made possible by proceeds from Chase Elliott 24 Days of Christmas Auction.
The five patients with the winning shoes sketches received a VIP Experience at Atlanta Motor Speedway where they had a chance to meet with all four Hendrick Motorsports drivers.
All five race-used shoes were autographed by the respective driver and auctioned off during a 10-day auction on The NASCAR Foundation’s online auction site powered by Fanatics Auctions.
Together, through The NASCAR Foundation Online Auction platform, we have raised over $34,000 to help support children’s summer camp programs that provide children with unique medical and physical needs the chance to feel like a “normal” kid. The NASCAR Foundation is proud to partner with organizations such as the Chase Elliott Foundation to help improve the life and health of children who need it most in our racing communities.
