As part of May’s National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, The NASCAR Foundation’s very own Chase wants you to get up, get healthy and have fun!
As one of the official drivers of The NASCAR Foundation, Chase knows how important it is to stay healthy and active. Whether you are playing outside, riding bikes with friends, swimming in the pool, or having a dance party with the family, just get moving for 60 minutes a day, every day.
Here is one example of an exercise routine that Chase does to stay in tip-top shape!
Race to the finish– Run in place for 60 seconds.
Cool down– Stretch by raising both arms up and leaning to the left side for 15 seconds, then leaning to the right side for 15 seconds.
While hanging out with Chase at The NASCAR Foundation’s Speediatrics Fun Day Festival in Tolleson, Arizona in March, NASCAR Drive for Diversity Driver Jesse Iwuji explained that “staying in shape and eating right is not only for looks, it’s to keep your overall health in check”, and that “physical fitness routines not only build your shape, but it can help build character.” He also shared how NASCAR drivers prepare for competition by exercising regularly and eating a well-balanced diet (which yes, means all your vegetables!).
So, throughout the month of May, and the entire year, be sure to follow Chase and Jesse’s model of being active and eating right, because that will give YOU the best chance to survive and thrive!
