The NASCAR Foundation and YellaWood each donates $100,000 to the American Red Cross

In the aftermath of devastation caused by Hurricane Ian, the NASCAR community has come together to help those in need. Talladega Superspeedway Track President – Brian Crichton, YellaWood Founder and CEO – Jimmy Rane and The NASCAR Foundation Board Member – Pete Jung presented a $200,000 donation to American Red Cross representatives at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday. These dollars are being used immediately in the Daytona Beach area as well as affected areas across the state of Florida.

“This is a transformational gift. It’s hard to put it into scope but I will try my best. We spent over $2.5M in preparation for this storm alone. On the ground, we have over 1,300 volunteers across the state representing all 50 states and the District of Columbia.” Said a representative from American Red Cross, “We are one of many partners at the table serving Floridians and will be for as long as we are needed. Our figures fluctuate regularly but to date we have distributed our 100,000 meals and sheltered close to 10,000 residents. That’s almost the entire population of Holly Hill.”
