Thanks to a $100,000 donation presented to Comfort Zone Camp on behalf of 2023 Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award winner Molly Moran, more than 200 children and their mentors will gain access to camp programming that provides a safe and healing environment for children who have experienced the loss of a loved one.
“It means the world to win the Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award and to be able to help more kids go to camp and realize they are not alone in their grief,” stated Moran.
Programs offered by Comfort Zone Camps provide support, understanding and a community where children can learn to cope with their grief and find strength in shared experiences. The grant received by Comfort Zone Camp has allowed organization to expand into 3 new camp l ocations in Charlotte, NC; Richmond, CA; and, Fuitland Park, FL.
“I really love that I was able to come here as a stranger and be welcomed as a family member by people who get it,” said former camper Kelly.
