Fans can bid to have their cancer hero’s name displayed on cars in the NASCAR Cup, O’Reilly Auto Parts and CRAFTSMAN Truck Series
The NASCAR Foundation and AdventHealth are once again teaming up for the seventh annual Honor a Cancer Hero online auction, with bidding opening this evening at 9:00 p.m. ET.
The online auction allows NASCAR fans to display their personal cancer hero’s name on the signature panel of their favorite NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series driver’s car during the race weekend at Daytona International Speedway on Aug. 28-29. Cars in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will have names displayed during the Kansas Speedway Chase race weekend on Sept. 27.
“This campaign allows us to honor our cancer heroes by featuring their names on drivers’ race cars across multiple NASCAR series, while also creating an important fundraising opportunity to support our programmatic efforts in racing communities,” said Nichole Krieger, Vice President and Executive Director of The NASCAR Foundation. “Seeing the impact these efforts have on individuals and families continues to inspire our work and strengthen our commitment to making a difference.”
Proceeds from the online auction will benefit The NASCAR Foundation. Since 2020, the auction has raised over $500,000 towards supporting the health and wellbeing of those in race communities and beyond.
The top bidders for the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series auction will be extended an invitation for two to the Wawa 250 Powered By Coca-Cola race on Friday, Aug. 28, at Daytona International Speedway, while the top bidder for the NASCAR Cup Series will be invited to attend the Coke Zero Sugar 400 on Saturday, Aug. 29. The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series top bidder will attend the race at Kansas Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 26. All top bidders will receive an exclusive hospitality experience to enjoy race day, featuring meet and greets with drivers alongside other special incentives.
“Every name on these cars tells a story of courage and perseverance, and we’re proud to help honor those stories,” said Rob Deininger executive vice president and CEO of the AdventHealth East Florida Division. “This auction helps us recognize cancer heroes and bring attention to the care that helps people through treatment and afterward. We hope it brings comfort, healing, and hope for the road ahead.”
Online bidding goes live tonight, June 1, at 9:00 p.m. ET and ends on Monday, June 8 at 9 p.m. ET.
The Honor a Cancer Hero auction is one of many initiatives supported through The NASCAR Foundation’s online auctions program, which features race-used memorabilia and at-track experiences available for fans to bid on online.
