Landon Delivers Promise to Visit Kids

The ask for retweets has become more than just a way to dare your friends, as it recently led to Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver Landon Cassill coming to visit kids at The NASCAR Foundation’s Speediatrics Fun Day Festival in Daytona.

Earlier this year, The NASCAR Foundation Twitter account got in on the social media fun with Landon during his retweet challenge. Landon chimed in on the “How many retweets for item x” and The NASCAR Foundation asked Landon to come to Daytona to visit kids from the community through the Speediatrics Children’s Fund. Landon gave the goal of 250 retweets, which The NASCAR Foundation quickly surpassed with 446 retweets from it’s loyal Twitter following!

The NASCAR Foundation wasn’t the only crowd who decided to chime in on the Twitter craze. Several fans asked different things for Landon to do, from asking for T-shirts to receiving die casts of his car and many various items.

During the Coke Zero 400 weekend in Daytona, Landon delivered on his promise to the Foundation and joined us at the Speediatrics Fun Day Festival to play with the kids! Landon, along with NASCAR Xfinity Series drivers Matt Tifft and Joey Gase, spoke to more than 100 kids in attendance about the importance of staying active and living healthy.

“The food that you eat is fueling your body,” said Landon. “Just like we have to put good fuel in our race cars for our cars to go fast, you have to put good fuel in your body.”

Continuing with the social media theme, Landon embraced his time at the Speediatrics Fun Day Festival with Joey, Matt and the kids with his rapid posts on social media about the event .
